Maciej Woch

I am Maciej Woch. I photograph the Bieszczady, people and places I encounter on my travels. I like strong light, expressive colour and images that make someone slow down without thinking. I want my photographs to move people, and to leave something with them after they close this page.

There is room in my portfolio for a distant ridge and for the gills beneath a mushroom cap. For a smile under a hood, sunlit fur and a face carved in wood. That change of scale says a lot about how I look. Sometimes the most interesting thing is far away; sometimes it is right underfoot. Both directions deserve a look.

I photograph BiesCzadowa Kraina up close, looking for character in faces, gestures and the texture of materials. In editing, I bring out the light, colour and detail that guide the eye. What matters in the end is whether an image makes you want to return.
